Grayslake Police Detain Two After BB Gun Incident at High School Parking Lot
Grayslake, IL – Grayslake Police detained two individuals on Friday afternoon after responding to a report of a firearm displayed in the parking lot of Grayslake North High School.
Officers received the call at approximately 3:20 p.m., prompting an immediate response to ensure the safety of the school community.
According to police reports, the vehicle involved left the scene but was quickly located and stopped by authorities.
Inside the vehicle, officers discovered a BB gun.
The two individuals inside were detained, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the firearm’s display.
Grayslake Police Chief Jeff Myhra commended the officers for their swift action, noting that no injuries occurred during the incident.
“Ensuring the safety of our schools is our highest priority, and our officers acted promptly to address the situation,” Myhra stated.
Authorities are reviewing evidence and gathering statements to assess any potential criminal charges.
