Farmers and ranchers in Texas are rallying to recover a John Deere tractor, valued at over $50,000, that was recently stolen. To incentivize the search, a reward of $8,000 has been announced by the tractor’s owner and law enforcement agencies.
Unlike standard vehicle thefts, which rely solely on police reports, Texas ranchers benefit from additional protection through the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA).
This organization actively searches for stolen equipment and livestock, creating “wanted” posters and offering rewards for recovery.
The Role of TSCRA Special Rangers
In District 13, Region 6, TSCRA Special Ranger Larry Hand is leading the investigation. Alongside assisting farmers and ranchers with equipment theft, TSCRA also investigates missing livestock.
For example, in District 10 in North Texas, they are searching for two stolen bulls in Kaufman.
What You Can Do
If you encounter a John Deere tractor for sale in Texas, check its VIN to ensure it is not the stolen one.
Rumors suggest the tractor may have already been recovered, but this has not been officially confirmed.
The TSCRA continues to serve as a vital resource for the rural community, ensuring stolen property is located and justice is served.
