He claims that Internal Revenue Service (IRS) investigators were intentionally left out of a briefing regarding an alleged “criminal bribery scheme” involving the Biden family. In a letter to United States Attorney for the District of Delaware David Weiss, Grassley expressed his dismay that IRS investigators were not included in a briefing that discussed an FD-1023 form. This form, according to Republicans, contains evidence suggesting that members of the Biden family received money in exchange for policy influence from foreign groups. Grassley also claimed that Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley Wolf, the senior prosecutor involved in the investigation, prevented IRS investigators from obtaining information about the potential involvement of the Biden family in Hunter Biden’s business dealings.
GRASSLEY’S ALLEGATIONS DEEPEN ONGOING GOP INVESTIGATIONS INTO BIDEN FAMILY
The allegations raised by Grassley about the Biden family have added fuel to ongoing investigations initiated by both the House and Senate GOP into the Biden administration and the Biden family. Whistleblowers from the FBI and the IRS have come forward, claiming that they were hindered or deceived in their attempts to thoroughly investigate the alleged criminal scheme. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has stated that he anticipates more revelations from the committee’s investigation, asserting that the Biden family may have received over $20 million from foreign sources. Grassley’s letter seeks clarification from Weiss regarding his knowledge of the allegations and how he handled them, particularly in light of the concerns surrounding Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley Wolf’s alleged obstructive conduct.
